This letter is to all American Public School Students

We love you

Dear Friends,

I miss you. I miss seeing your smiling faces. I miss your stories. I miss your well wishes. I miss feeding you bananas, nuts, and weird fruits you never had before, and of course Jolly Ranchers. I miss giving you the freedom to be the beautiful people you are. I miss how beautiful you were to be my friend and forgive me for the old Mr. Warwak who only cared for himself before I had changed.

Please understand, I have to tell you the truth because schools want to hide this from you. The same way they fooled me for so many years. I tell the truth because I love you all. It breaks my heart to see the system strip you of your sensitivity and spirit. I could not be a part of that. I don’t do that to my friends.

I ask all American Public Schools to remove the false Milk Mustache’ posters and I provide schools (the people you trust) with proof of the horrors of milk and what it will do to your bodies. Most schools refuse to even discuss your health or what is happening to our planet. Some of you probably heard adults say, “Do not tell the kids!” When you are eating lunch, look at those Milk Mustache' posters and realize them for what they are; something American Public Schools thinks so important to hang in your face everyday, that they will do anything and everything to maintain the status quo at all costs - they sell-out your health. Where is the genuine care?

There are many things all around us made from animals that we never notice. One example is gelatin used in deserts and candies and a whole host of things you never dreamed of. Gelatin is an icky goo from boiled down slaughterhouse waste. Don't eat the Peeps! The Peeps are made of marshmallow which is made of, you guessed it, gelatin. They add sugar, color, and a different/fun (Jello) name and cartoon animals that say, “its all good”. Sometimes, they even shape them to look like cute little sculptural animals (Peeps, chocolate bunnies, and even Lamb cakes) because they know how much kids love animals. Do not be fooled. This is not just about diet or treats. It is about eating and drinking death. It is about tricking you in hopes you won't care by the time you find out!

Do you remember the Santa Claus lie? The Santa lie is their way of practicing deception and fooling you with material things, year after year, until you are hooked and no longer care for real things of value, ... like life. Then they tell you the truth or you figure it out on your own or you find out from a real friend. Stop believing their lies. No gift is greater than the gift of life. They have conditioned your bodies into cold, unfeeling machines that require death to operate. Do you want to be a killing machine? We are what we eat. Keep your love life alive and go Vegan.

Do not believe everything you see. The world is an illusion. Wake up. We are so disconnected; we do not even notice this right in front of our face three times a day. When we open our circle of compassion to all, we grow as a people and our treatment of each other and others improves.

Imagine earning respect for yourself with each and every meal. You must give respect to earn respect. If you were a cold and lonely chicken in a cage, never allowed to open your wings, would you feel like no one cares? I care and I know many of you still care. It breaks my heart to think very few people care about the billions of cold, scared chickens whom they murder, and feed to you. And you eat animals because you trust the people who lie to you. Just like they lied to me. Just like they lie to society. Animals are not food. Do you want to be a killing machine? The people in charge want this for you. Do you want to be a walking vessel of dead and rotting animal carcasses that constantly needs to eat more death? Not me. No thank you.

We are all animals. None of us are food. Even our fellow Earthlings, who some call animals, that do not look like us. They tell you not to discriminate. Do not look down on others. How convenient we humans have chosen to be the only animals that deserve the right to live and not be eaten. Do not believe their lies about it being a personal choice. None of these people asked me if they can eat my friends or ruin my world. No one asked the animal if they minded being confined and murdered. Do not believe their lies.

Please remember how special life is and that we should never take an other’s life, even if we were raised to believe it is right because they taste good or because everyone else does it. To do so, would be disrespectful, irresponsible, and wasteful. I do not eat animals. Neither do many others. More and more people are waking up every day. The greatest minds who ever lived were vegans.

Please do not drink any milk, even if they try to fool you by adding sugar and chocolate flavors. One of their favorite lies is the one about how much you need it to grow and stay alive. Lies! In fact Vegan children on average grow larger and get sick less. And we know they are cooler because they respect life. Milk is poison. Visit Not Milk and Milk Sucks and see for yourself. Please do not eat any animals, even if they try to fool you by adding sugars, salts, and sauces. Meat is really another word for murder.

Public Schools tell you not to bully others; yet, they support the bullying of animals worst than anything you could ever think up. They try to hide this from you. They bully and even fire some teachers if they stand up to them. Imagine being an animal in a cage. Being bullied because you are just a stupid chicken or cow – imagine it, … and no one loves you, ... and they look at you in disgust, ... and the only reason you are around is to be eaten. This is the silent holocaust going on right in front of us. Be better than that. Look inside yourself and do not let anyone tell you not to care about your brothers and sisters. Yes, animals are our brothers and sisters.

It is our job to protect our brothers and sisters from evil people who only wish to use them for their own sick pleasures and rituals. If we don’t speak up for animals, who will? Eating the flesh of another being and drinking their pus, blood, and other bodily fluids does not sound very nice, in fact, it sounds evil and it is! Certainly not something I want to be a part of. Too, don’t you think it seems awfully convenient that the big people in charge have determined that animals are not important and are just things to be used in any way we wish? No animal wants to die.

We have choices. These same choices will help you live a longer, healthier life. Please investigate these things on your own. Look up “factory farming” and “Vegan”. You will discover that those Milk Mustache’ posters your school is proudly displaying, are really just a facade protected by a major killing machine. Look at the science behind a Vegan diet and you will find out, Mr. Warwak is telling you the truth. You will also find out the lengths, the bullies will go to, to silence anyone who teaches peace, love, and truth. Look back at history and you will find people who spoke of peace, love, and truth were silenced. Silenced, just like they are trying to silence me. This is the reality of the world.

Learn about the Vegan diet and teach your principal and the other teachers about a healthy compassionate diet. Ask questions about the Vegan diet during class. Ask your teachers if they think Einstein, Socrates, and Gandhi (3 people smarter than your principal) were wrong when they told us not to eat animals. The Vegan diet relates to virtually every subject. Good teachers have nothing to hide, especially the truth about your bodies and your world. A Vegan diet addresses pollution, your health, the future of your planet and our survival as a people. Switching to a Vegan diet is the most important change you can make for real good.

You have more power than you think. Start a Vegan club based on peace, love, and compassion. Sit facing away from the Milk Mustache’ posters and shield your eyes when you walk by them. Educate your friends and family. Ask your principal why those lies are still hanging up. Tell your school you will have a hard time trusting them if they do not care to promote truth and goodwill towards all. If your school doesn't care about animals, ask them, “what about your health?” Do you care? Tell your school you want healthy Vegan lunches, not ground-up death and misery. The animals need your voice. Make a petition. Boycott milk and meat in the school lunch. Press the issue. You are in the moral right. Good is stronger than evil. No one can force-feed you. History cares not of pride, nor, conformists, only to a gasp at how primitive they must have been; whereas, we always remember those who are able to change with great reverence, for they put aside pride and refused to conform to evil.

Do not grow up like them. Do not support the death industries. Be your own person at a young age and overcome their killing society with peace, love, and the truth. Help save your brothers and sisters. Boycott milk and meat in the school lunch. You have the power to bring about positive change! If you have a friend who cannot afford to brown bag it, please be their lunch buddy and bring a Vegan lunch for them. Teach your family and friends about Veganism. I hope, in the not too distant future, I will see some of you again. Maybe at an Animal Rights rally or a Vegan restaurant with your family. Hang in there for you are more worldly for having gone through this experience. Hopefully, you saw the light, and remember, good Artists are observant. We love you and are counting on you.

Peace, love, and understanding for all
Your teacher and forever friend,
Mr. Warwak

“Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty” Einstein

"For the school board to claim that Dave Warwak turned his classroom into a "zone of indoctrination" is not only ironic, but ludicrous. It is clear that the entire school is a zone of indoctrination, complete with posters promoting dairy products and a cafeteria offering a continuous supply of foods derived from terrified and abused animals. The school and its teachers and administrators present this cruelty as normal in an overwhelmingly pervasive way to impressionable children. The school is itself an institution embedded in a culture that uses all its other institutions to do exactly the same thing. Dave Warwak was providing a small counterpoint of awareness, compassion, and sensitivity to this flood of indoctrination to which all children in our culture are routinely subjected and for this he could not be tolerated. That he should be painted by the school board and media as the "indoctrinator" is beyond absurd, and what is astonishing is how difficult this is for most people to comprehend. Dave Warwak was creative and honest in his efforts to help students rise above culturally-imposed attitudes of violence and cruelty toward animals, and because of this he was viewed as dangerous to the status quo. In actuality, he was fulfilling a higher mandate, and for this he deserves respect and honor, not the disrespect and abuse that he has been forced to endure for questioning a culture that is ferocious in its routine cruelty toward billions of animals used for food."

"Fox River Grove Middle School is standing education on its head when it cracks down on instructors who teach our kids about kindness and good health," says PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk. "Mr. Warwak is exposing the meat industry's dirty secrets, and his students have every right to know the truth behind their food choices."

Persecuting Men of Vision

A book burning was held recently. Welcome to the new United States of America, a place in which Homeland Security means protecting our children against subversive ideas such as the promotion of compassion to animals. Such as the vegetarian lifestyle.

A vegan teacher dared to distribute books by John Robbins to his students. Those books were joyously burned at a barbecue in which animals were roasted by members of an Illinois community. What was his crime?

Let me quote Mrs. Lovett in the Johnny Depp movie, Sweeney Todd, brilliantly directed by Tim Burton. When asked what crime a barber was prosecuted for and transported away for a life of hard labor in a ship's galley, she responded, "His crime? Foolishness."

In real-life 21t century terms, Dave Warwak's middle school crime was to inspire his art students (just as Peter Max once did) that compassion to animals and people was a blessing and not a crime.

Dave's website tells the story of his tormenting experience and firing by the school board: http://www.inslide.com

Vegan radio has an interesting perspective on Dave's experiences. You can listen to that archived show: http://veganradio.com

Dave Warwak took the burdens of the world upon his own shoulders. Like many men of wisdom and courage throughout history who have been honored by those who are touched by greatness, Dave has been persecuted for society's sins.

I cannot do anything other than compare Dave's continuing struggle to Galileo.

Long ago, Galileo turned his attention to a new frontier, and in doing so, angered religious leaders. By placing lenses inside of a long tube, Galileo's primitive telescope allowed him to discover four moons revolving around the planet Jupiter. His invention was destroyed and Galileo imprisoned. Man's laws gave this fanatic and visionary two choices: remain in prison or recant his discovery and previous testimony. Galileo had no choice but to exist in a world in which his truth became a threat to the men of his time. Dispelling myths has always been dangerous to one's health. Dave refuses to betray his values or his mission. Welcome this new vegan visionary into a movement badly in need of heroes. Dave's personal email: dave@inslide.com

Dave Warwak: A True Hero – 7 October 2007

When I heard that Dave Warwak was fired from Fox River Grove Middle School in Illinois for his attempts to teach Humane Education, I thought about Socrates who was executed thousands of years ago for his teachings. That ancient Greek philosopher was accused of “corrupting the youth.”

I thought how any attempt to teach the truth to youth seems always to be met with opposition and resistance by those who are really corrupt and want to keep the status quo at any cost.

Dave Warwak uses his sense of humor and his artistic talent to help make this a kinder and more gentle world. Isn’t this exactly what the world needs?

It’s a sad day when a teacher is punished for telling students the truth: that by going vegetarian they will dramatically improve their health while saving animals from cruelty so extreme it would warrant felony-level cruelty charges in the state of Illinois if the victims were dogs and cats, rather than chickens, pigs, and cows. In a time of growing violence in schools, a teacher who is bringing a message of compassion should be applauded, not punished. Students in every school should have teachers like Mr. Warwak to tell them that the “chicken nuggets” they consume in the cafeteria were once living, breathing animals who were crammed into filthy sheds and pumped full of drugs before having their throats slit while still conscious.

Mr. Warwak was also apparently distributing copies of John Robbins’ book “The Food Revolution”, which documents not just the cruelty of the meat industry, but also the environmental and health benefits of a vegetarian diet. In these days of skyrocketing childhood obesity, hopefully Mr. Warwak’s students will take this health message to heart: according to the American Dietetic Association, a vegan diet is appropriate for all ages and vegans have lower rates of heart disease, cancer, diabetes and obesity than meat-eaters.
